Keto stopped my joint pains

After years of punishing my joints from heavy weight training, high intensity sports, work and injuries. The roosters came back to roost while weight training. From knee pain to tennis elbow. The aches were debilitating at times due to tendonitis. Doctors in the past prescribe for me anti-inflammatory meds like Ibuprofen to reduce inflammation and even had cortisone injections to the affected joints. This can lead to a vicious cycle of on and off pain. The first time I changed my diet to a ketogenic diet was while prepping for a bodybuilding contest. I did notice some improvement in mobility besides leaning out to single digit body fat levels. A week before the competition I began to carb load and went back to eating carbs after the competition. The joint pains began within weeks of doing so. I have stayed on a moderate carbohydrate diet during training / bulking phases. And the joint pains have been on and off.

Currently I have been leaning out once again and began a ketogenic diet. The anti- inflammatory effects of a keto diet are obvious to me at this point. Not only have the joint pains improved, my digestion has been much better with little to no bloating. At the beginning, I did have some hunger issues while making adjustments to my macronutrients. I do admit that I am eating 30 grams of sprouted grains one hour before training, which does not affect my body from being in ketosis. It does help with training, but not really needed. Just goes with the program that I am following.

Low carb diets such as keto diets have been known to help people with health issues such as epilepsy, cancer and inflammation. They are also great for weight loss. Not spiking sugar eliminates constant ups and downs of moods and energy levels. There are so many choices today for low carb diets. It has never been easier to change the way we eat by making lifestyle changes.

All in all, This is a quick note to anyone having any health issues or are looking to change their lifestyle. You have many choices. We all know that obesity is the main cause of most diseases in the West. We can always better ourselves by making changes.

Just got to put in the work.

I’ll see you out there.
