If one thing 2020 has demonstrated to people around the world is the importance of healthy eating and physical fitness. Whether it be cold like symptoms, debilitating organ damages and in some case, death, an awakening has been observed. But as we read through the articles of patients that have had the worst part of the Cervezza sickness, most of them had either pre existing conditions or were obese. We also notice the lack of information being published on the importance of maintaining body fat low, importance of physical fitness and the use of micronutrients to maintain a healthy immune system. It is no secret that having high a high body fat percentage is the cause for many health problems. From diabetes, heart disease and too many to count. The good news is that we can do something about it. Starting by getting rid of junk foods and cutting back on sugary products. Get your body moving. Gyms closed? Go for a walk or train in your home. The key is to get in the habit of eating better while getting the body mass index lower. This will also assist with building a strong immune system.
This is not to say that we may not become ill. But, by building a healthy immune system we give our bodies all the ammunition it needs to fight off anything that may come our way. Fortunately, a vaccine will be distributed soon for many people whom are at high risk at the moment. I may not be anti vaccine, but I prefer to use what nature has given us to protect our health. I am currently on a vitamin regimen and always have been. Being in the fitness industry for many years, we tend to research what works and what does not work for all health related issues. Preventive maintenance is key, Besides eating healthy proteins, vegetables and healthy fats, taking vitamin C and D and multivitamins are staples in my morning routine. Drinking teas made from Chaga mushrooms a couple times a day have helped many, including myself. They have been shown to have antiviral properties in them. When symptoms of cold or flu show up, Bringing the doses of C and D up while adding elderberry syrup and quercetin with bromelain has help recovery and strengthen my immune system. I also cut carbohydrate intake and sugar when battling symptoms . Ketogenic diets are great anti-inflammatory diets. Spiking insulin tends to worsen viral symptoms. This is not medical advice, just posting what has worked for me and people in my circle.
This short post is just a reminder that the choices we make have consequences. Over indulging ourselves with poor food choices will always wreak havoc in the long run. Not getting our bodies moving will eventually cause aches, injuries and weakness over time. A body in motion, stays in motion. Newton’s Law.. Taking vitamins are like insurance policies. Getting off the couch and in the sunlight is nature’s medicine. Our days are limited on this planet. Minus well enjoy them by getting back with nature. A good book to read on nutrition is DEEP NUTRITION by Catherine Shanahan. I’ll See you out there. Be safe..
