Returning to a Keto Diet

May seem like we fall off the wagon from time to time, or we just prefer to stay in our comfort zone. We crave sugar at times and give in to it. That few minutes of pleasure ends up inflating us and slowing our metabolism while adding the extra pounds. We would even skip training days if we let our minds get the best of us. Whether intentional or just letting ourselves go, there is always a way to get where we want to go. We could think of a million reasons why not to follow a diet or train. A few examples are:

I have no time to prepare meals. I got the keto flu!. It it too expensive to eat healthy. etc.

My joints hurt. The Governor closed my gym due to the Cerveza sickness. I have no time for training either. etc.

In the end we all know deep down that the only person we are fooling and lying to is the person we see in the mirror. Training can suck at times, but, it also feels great after a training session. Sense of accomplishing something. The pay off for putting in the work is huge. In my case, It was intentional to add carbohydrates to my diet. It has helped with building muscle and for spiking insulin post work outs. But I do not worry too much about the way I look after eating carbohydrates for a few months because it was intentional and part of a program. It is hard to gain muscle on zero carbs when you have muscle maturity. Above is an example of the conditioning and how shredded you can get bodybuilding show using a ketogenic diet. My goal is not to get to stage condition at the moment, but to lose the flab. Keto is an excellent diet to achieve this conditioning. I blow up on carbs. Just in my genetics I guess.

Ketogenic diets are not a new thing. They have been around for many years. Old school bodybuilders knew this. Just called it low carb. The trick is to decrease protein intake while adding fats. I do eat all kind of fats. Including hard cheeses, which I am a huge fan of. Results of my bloodwork after being on keto have been nothing but improvements. An increase in energy and sex drive are just some of the benefits that were noticeable. The photo above is at an age of 49 years old, which is not too shabby. I will be going on a prep again and show progress as we go through 2021. Holidays are coming up and I will be enjoying some apple and pumpkin pie in 2020. As you may notice, I do not make it a religion to be on any diet. Enjoying an occasional delight will not be a sin or end of the world. Examples of a keto diet is on a previous post I shared on this site. Look up, I lost 30 pounds on Keto if you are interested.
