GYM Etiquette

As we finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, when it comes to gyms reopening after the pandemic closures. We are once reminded of the bad habits we constantly deal with in the gym atmosphere. I will name some of the items which many know and others just have no clue about, gym manners and etiquette. Old school gyms like Quads Gym in Chicago will not tolerate such behaviors to the point of revoking your membership. Making it one of my favorite gyms to train in.

We start with the most basic and yet most observed in habits in public gyms, Returning weights to their rightful place. People will train, sweat and even do cardio, but are too lazy to return weights. There are other people using the same gym equipment to consider as well. Simply return weights, wipe down equipment and benches after use. Especially now a days with the Cerveza sickness going around.

WEAR Deodorant! Self explanatory as it is. This should be obvious to any one.

Unless someone asks you for advice or is endangering themselves, keep your training tips to yourself. Most people find this annoying as hell, and the majority of people that do give advice are clueless when it comes to training.

Train smart, leave your ego at the door. This may save you from injuring yourself or going through an embarrassment. Use proper form and avoid going crazy by adding excessive weights.

Dress appropriately. Anyone who considers himself a person of value, will wear cloths that both fit well, are clean and do not stick out like a sore thumb.

In locker rooms, Wear a towel, No one is interested on speaking to anyone naked with balls all out. Bring a towel and wear it.

And final advise, if you want to see progress, be consistent in your training. Results will follow.
