We hear about them everywhere we look and go. With many people trying to explain why fad diets are the best ever. Too many diets to be counted. Diets such as time restriction, keto, low carb, high carb, vegan, carnivore and so on. I am not writing to bash on any of the diets or fads. We must first look into what are our specific goals when it comes to our health or our competitive goals. Are our intentions to gain weight or build muscle mass? Or is it our goal to lose weight?
In all truthfulness there is no one perfect diet. One of the main factors in any diet is what works for you and your body. For example, my body responds very well to low to zero carbs for weight loss. Being a competitive bodybuilder, I have tried many types of diets, until I found a plan that gave me plenty of energy while reducing bodyfat and maintaining muscle mass.
One thing the majority of people in the fitness industry agree on is that both processed and high sugar foods are by far the worst you can consume. Just by cutting sugar alone from your daily consumption can improve your overall health in many ways. Many processed foods have hidden sugars and ingredients that are just plain horrible for anyone trying to get lean or improve overall health.
It is recommended eating foods that come with no labels. Real food. I get it if your on the go and need a quick snack. Companies are now bringing meal replacement bars with natural ingredients, for example, Outright bars from Tiger Fitness. And no, I do not receive a dime from the manufacture. But it is a decent choice.
So what do we get from this? Diets are not religions and no one gives two shits whether you are vegan, carnivore, gluten free or any name that people come up with to take your money. If something works for you, than use whatever works. Now if you want to improve your all fitness and health, a coach is always helpful.
As long as your willing to get off your butt and do the work.
